An excellent win for the team on Monday against Cotswold Edge 4 to 2 gave us our first away victory of the year! We also had a good result away at Clevedon losing narrowly 3.5 to 4.5.
31 brave souls made their way to Isle of Wedmore on Wednesday expecting a thorough soaking only to be pleasantly surprised with a dry round. ,br>

From Our Men’s and Ladies Captain:
Thanks to all competitors who took part in the 3 Clubs and Putter competition. This was in aid of Members Funds and raised a total of £577.19. A huge thank you to Ian Lewis, Mandy Wookey, Maria McNally, Mike Webber and Alan Baker-Green who all helped on the day. Without this support these events cannot be successful.
We decided that this year we would have an individual Stableford and looking at the scores it would appear some of you are carrying too many clubs throughout the season..
First place for the ladies was Bev Hill beating Sue Jarvis on count back with 38 points and Barbara Lewis with 36 points in third.
First place for the men’s was Seamus Brennan with 38 points with Lee McMurray edging Rich Phillips into third on count back with 37 points.
Nearest the Pin @14th for Ladies was Denise Barwell tied with Nicky Edwards. Tony FitzHenry took the men’s nearset @16th.
We had nearest the pin in two for both sections @ 5th. Sue Jarvis and Kev Collins were triumphant.
Prior to this event teams were drawn by Sally, teams consisted of a low, mid and high handicapper plus a lady. Three players scores to count. There was some surprised faces among the winners. First with a huge score of 107 was Bev Hill, Paul Thompson, Mike Webber and Alan Baker-Green. Second with 104 was Carol Knapp, Lee McMurray, Sam Deacon and Phil Hartley.
It just remains for us to say thank you all for the respect shown during the minutes silence for Jason Franklin. He will be sadly missed. Our thoughts are with his family. Rest in Peace Jason.
